H0sting League 1

H0sting Cup Rules

Rounds

Each round will consist of two random loadouts up to four racers will compete in, with a potential third loadout in the case of a first place tiebreaker. There will be seven rounds throughout the league. The goal is to have every racer encounter every other contestant in their pool at least once.

Difficulty

The races will be played on Eclipse 8 difficulty, with only 2 pillars required to activate the jump pads on Commencement. Lunar items and equipments cannot be picked up unless they are immediately taken to a cleaning pool and are transformed into pearls.

Concede Procedure

After first place is secured by a racer, every other racer must finish their loadout within 40 minutes of first place (in game time). In the case they are unable to perform this, a referee will contact them and inform them that they must concede.

Race Tie Breaking Procedure

For every race, if after two loadouts are completed there is a tie in points for first place, a third race will be conducted between racers who are tied for first.

If there is a tie for second or third place, the following tiebreakers will determine the outcome of position.

1. Number of DNFs

This includes loadouts forfeited from breaking rules, conceding, and from time expiring 40 minutes after the first place racer finished. Players with the lower number of DNFs will place higher.

2. Number of +5s

Total number of +5s throughout the competition are added up. Racers with the least will place higher.

3. Average Time Per Run

All run times are taken and divided by the number attempted. Racers with the lower average time per run will place higher.

4. Random Outcome

If all four other tiebreakers are somehow non-decisive, players still tied will be assigned a random number which will be rolled for. This should only happen once in a thousand years, but you never know.

Exception

If a racer participates and ends up DNFing both loadouts, they are awarded one point for participation. This means that if multiple racers DNF both Loadouts, they all will be awarded only one point.

Standings Tie Breaking Procedure

After every round, racers will be awarded points based on their placement during their races.

If two or more racers have the same amount of points, their placement in standings will be based on the following tiebreakers in order.

1. Raw Points

Raw Points are the amount of points earned throughout all loadouts in total. Players with the higher raw points will place higher.

2. Number of DNFs

This includes loadouts forfeited from breaking rules, conceding, and from time expiring 40 minutes after the first place racer finished. Players with the lower number of DNFs will stand higher.

3. Number of +5s

Total number of +5s throughout the competition are added up. Racers with the least will stand higher.

4. Average Time Per Run

All run times are taken and divided by the number attempted. Racers with the lower average time per run will stand higher.

5. Random Outcome

If all four other tiebreakers are somehow non-decisive, players still tied will be assigned a random number which will be rolled for. This should only happen once in a million years, but you never know.

End of League Standings

At the conclusion of the final round, a predetermined number of racers will be invited to participate in a tournament with a prize pool of at least $550. The racers selected will be the top 22 ranked racers in the standings, however, in the case someone chooses not to enter, racers will be invited in the order of the remaining standings with the highest standing racer remaining being contacted first.

Terms and Conditions

By signing up for this league, you agree to the following conditions.

1. No Cheating Policy - Racers suspected of using any mods beyond the ones given in the modpack code or specifically approved by gamerH_0ST himself will be disqualified for the round they are suspected of using unapproved mods in, and will be reviewed for possible removal from the league. In addition, unapproved usage of DebugToolkit will result in the same action. On top of this, watching a competing racer's livestream during a race is strictly prohibited, as is sharing seed information with other racers. Doing either of these acts can result in possible removal from the league.

2. No "Cheese Tactics" Policy - Certain strategies in Risk of Rain 2 are not approved of and will result in a potential disqualification if used in an excessive manner. These include:

    a. Ramp Cheesing - A strategy where the racer stands on top of the ramp during the Mithrix fight in order to get Mithrix to fling himself high into the air and take fall damage. This also includes the REX variant with rooting Mithrix from the ramp. Referees will be encouraged to give a warning if they see this occurring mid-game, however final decisions will be made by an admin while reviewing the footage whether or not this was violated.

    b. Noclip Camping - Noclipping (clipping through the terrain by means of vanilla ex: merc dashing into a wall; huntress blinking through a wall; commando sliding in a wall, etc) is allowed in game as long as the racer's intent is to travel faster from point A to point B, or to noclip Engineer Turrets by placing them in walls while in bounds. Using noclip as a means of creating a safe space for the racer is prohibited, and can result in a DNF if it is found to have been performed for said purpose. Referees will be encouraged to give a warning if they see this occurring mid-game, however final decisions will be made by an admin while reviewing the footage whether or not this was violated.

    c. Escaping the Mithrix Arena - Using certain abilities or equipment allows the user to start the Mithrix fight, with them then escaping the arena and fighting the boss through a one way barrier. This strategy is not allowed, and can result in an automatic DNF if performed.

    d. Excessive Pausing - Pausing to take a breather on occasion or if something needs to be dealt with outside of the race (ex. restroom break; phone call) is fine, however using pausing to either give extra time to make decisions (ex. next to a printer or scrapper; blue portal cauldrons; trishops; etc) can result in disqualification from a loadout if deemed excessive from a referee or from gamerH_0ST. Referees will be encouraged to give a warning if they see this occurring mid-game, however final decisions will be made by an admin while reviewing the footage.

3. Stream Drop Policy - In the case a racer's stream drops during a run, regardless of the cause, the referee overseeing the competition will inform all racers to pause their games while they wait for the racer to reconnect their stream. It is required as a racer to immediately pause the game the moment it becomes known their internet is offline. If too much time passes from the time a racer's internet goes out to the time they pause their game, an admin may decide to disqualify the racer from the loadout. Once the stream is reconnected, the referee will inform the racers to resume, and continue as normal. If the issue takes longer than ten minutes to resolve, the racer that is unable to reconnect their stream must concede their run, and can try again next loadout.

4. No Show Policy - If a racer does not show up to their assigned round within thirty minutes after the assigned time, it will count as a no show, which will count as zero points. The rest of the racers will then compete for the highest remaining positions. If one racer does not show up, after thirty minutes they are disqualified from competing and are awarded zero points for the race. The other three will compete for first, second, and third in a three racer race format. If two racers no-show, after thirty minutes have passed, the two will compete for first and second in a two racer competition. If three racers no-show, after thirty minutes have passed, the one present racer will solo compete for the sake of standings tie-breakers, and will be awarded first place upon completing both loadouts. If all four racers do not show up, the race will be forfeit and all will receive zero points.

5. Scheduling Policy - Racers will be assigned a pool of players that best fit their average availability schedule. For each round, racers will fill out their availability in a given timeframe, and if a time is found that works for everyone, it will be selected by gamerH_0ST and will be assigned a race admin to referee the match. Once the race has been scheduled, the only way to reschedule is if every racer agrees to reschedule to a different time in the case someone cannot make it. This must be done no less than two days in advance.

6. Policy for disputing internal conflict - In order to maintain a good image, it is requested that any disputes or complaints be brought up to either gamerH_0ST or another admin instead of making the dispute public. We want to make this a fair environment and will do our best to hear out any concerns one may have regarding the way the league is managed.

7. No Spoiling Policy - Recordings of races will be sent to gamerH_0ST and may be broadcasted live on Twitch at a later time or date. Because of this, it is expected that racers and referees do their best not to speak about the results of their race until after they are casted, and especially not to talk about them during the cast. Racers who spoil the results during broadcast will receive a timeout on the stream casting the race, and if excessive or malicious, can result in removal from the league.

8. Selection Policy - We are looking to keep the number of racers to a multiple of four, meaning not everyone eligible for competing will be guaranteed a spot in the league. In order to be as fair as possible, racers who meet eligibility will be selected in the order they applied to in a first come, first served manner.

9. Crashing Policy - In the case a racer's game crashes, the racer may resume their run from the stage at which the crash occurred through ProperSave, but will have any +5's they acquired during the stage that crashed added on to their end time, in addition to another +5 being added on due to the advantage of having foresight on the stage.
